On a lovely day in the North West Wolves were finally crowned champions in front of 4800 travelling fans with an emphatic 4-0 victory at the Macron.

Conor Coady scored Wolves 4th goal in a convincing victory which was the icing on the cake for one of Wolves’ player of the season to send the Wolves faithful in raptures.

It was a fantastic moment to be part of the crowd with the captain deservedly getting his first goal of the campaign and to see the response the fans had for the man who has been a fantastic leader throughout the season.

Wolves took the lead through wing back Barry Douglas who followed up a Benik Afobe strike which was palmed in the direction of the Scotsman who couldn’t miss.

Afobe did get on the scoresheet – Coady found the DR Congo forward coolly rounded Ben Alnwick  to make it 2-0 just before the interval.

Helder Costa, who was possibly one of Wolves stand out performers, fed in Diogo Jota after nice work and his fellow countryman dincked the ball home to put the game out of sight against the struggling Wanderers.

It was one of the leaders finest performances against a lackluster side and it was Captain Fantastic to seal the victory. Costa again giving Paul Robinson a torrid time fed Abofe. His first attempt was well blocked but upon collecting the ball he was upended by former Wolves captain Karl Henry,

Afobe took control of the ball but it was Coady given the responsibility and like the majority of the season, he took it in his stride sending the Bolton number one the wrong way.

Celebrations were on and even the Wolves fan in the Bolton exec box couldn’t contain his excitement with minutes remaining angering many Bolton fans in the stand below.

It was another fantastic day to be part of and whilst I won’t be at the final two games I’m excited for the fans as the good times continue to roll!
